We are currently seeking a Business Analyst to join our team in Westlake, TX.
The role of the Business Analyst/Reporting Analyst is to drive risk mitigation and data analysis through the utilization of standardized methodologies, established processes and formalized communication channels. The primary responsibility of the Business Analyst/Reporting Analyst is to write reporting queries to obtain data and to perform analysis and provide to the business departments. The Business Analyst/Reporting Analyst is responsible for ensuring client satisfaction and retention by understanding the needs of the business, documenting and communicating their requirements to the appropriate resources within CoreLogic and monitoring project status and task completion to ensure Service Level Agreements are met. The role requires the Business Analyst/Reporting Analyst to engage in ongoing, regular communications with internal departments to maintain an understanding of project challenges, progress to objectives and overall project status. The Business Analyst/Reporting Analyst will often be required to troubleshoot and resolve issues that arise during engagements to ensure barriers to progress are removed and business requirements are met.
Essential Functions/Responsibilities
Write reporting queries to access data (SQL, Micro Strategies, Excel, and Access). Analyzing data to drive process change and identify areas of risk.
Review key data sets and provide inputs to reporting and subsequent analysis. Ensure appropriate documentation of the analyses is provided to the leadership team.
Identify reporting requirements; provide specifications where needed; communicate to the production team to ensure requirements are addressed.
Document appropriate process and work flows; identify potential gaps; address through remediation as needed.
Utilize established methodologies; ensure compliance with department policies, processes and practices.
Manage the testing/ demonstration process; leverage key team members as needed. Collect data/ feedback from the process; identify and inventory issues and/or concerns for review by management.
Identify additional opportunities through fact-finding, active listening and overall engagement with the business. Provide regular updates and surface opportunities as identified.
Identify opportunities for process improvement; define and document processes and procedures as appropriate. Collaborate with team members and management to prioritize opportunities.
Serve as a back-up for other team members; prepare projects for transfer as needed.
Train new team members and/or serve as a team resource as assigned.
JOB REQUIREMENTS
Education, Experience, Knowledge, and Skills
Bachelors degree (or equivalent combination of education & experience) in business management or related field with 3-5 years work experience in report writing and/or as a business analyst.
Prior experience in mortgage servicing, financial services or data management operations.
Advanced reporting writing skills to include experienced in writing SQL, advanced Excel and Access skills. Experience with business intelligence tools (i.e. Micro Strategy).
Strong written/ verbal communication skills to defined business and technical parameters; relay project status/ information; create project plans and draft other documentation as needed.
Strong interpersonal skills and presentation abilities with the ability to effectively communicate with employees, management, leadership and audiences external to the organization.
Consultative and collaborative work style; ability to develop and maintain effective working relationships both internal and external to the organization.
Strong analytical, quantitative skills; solid decision making capabilities coupled with the ability to recognize and support the organizations preferences and priorities.
Proven ability to multi-task in a high volume environment; effective at managing multiple priorities under tight deadlines, ability to prioritize conflicting demands, organize time and focus to deliver solid and consistent results and bring assignments to successful completion.
Solid understanding of the mortgage servicing industry with a general knowledge of mortgage products and industry norms.
Strong technical aptitude; advanced skills and knowledge of Microsoft Office to include: Word, Excel and PowerPoint.

The check will bounce and the victim is left responsible.
