The Food Service Team prepares healthy and balanced snacks and meals while ensuring that any dietary restrictions for individual children are met and manages food supplies/ordering.
Qualifications:
Must meet all requirements of local/state childcare regulatory agency and Primrose School of Westlake at Entrada and have knowledge of state licensing regulations Previous professional experience in food service preparation, preferred High School diploma (or equivalent) Food Handlers Certification, preferred Skills:
Pleasant/friendly demeanor Strong organizational skills and able to multi- task Ability to manage time to meet frequently changing deadlines in a fast-paced environment Able to work with others harmoniously, solution and detail-oriented and ability to provide constructive feedback Excellent communication (written and verbal), good listening, follow-up skills and problem-solving skills, including high coping capabilities High integrity, competent, confident and coachable Must be able to lift up to 35 lbs.
in connection with the handling of children for the facilitation of programs, child safety, and potential emergency situations Ability to stand and/or walk for extended periods of time; and able to kneel or squat
Responsibilities:
Help ensure that all health and safety standards are met and assists in managing the kitchen and food supplies, as well as helping to maintain a beautiful campus across the school! Follows the daily menu prepared in conjunction with, or by, the Director, including portion control standards for meal and snack preparation Implements changes in menus, if instructed to do so Ensures that each meal is ready to be served when scheduled Maintains a keen awareness of children who have allergies/food restrictions.
Offers substitute items to children who may be allergic or have food restrictions Ensures food service area and food is free of nuts, nut products or food items that have been processed in a facility that also processes nut products according to the policies and procedures of Primrose School of Westlake at Entrada.
Checks all food labels upon receipt to ensure compliance with this requirement Maintains an orderly, clean and safe kitchen area at all times, including the proper maintenance of equipment, as well as follows sanitation guidelines Located at 26 Arta Drive, Westlake, TX off Highway 114 and Davis St.
