9 40 minutes ago Full Job Description Your Opportunity This Finance Specialist role inside the Finance Specialist Development Program is a key entry point to the Finance team.
This individual will be a vital member of the team, which provides financial oversight and decision support for the Charles Schwab organization.
The position combines both ad-hoc analytics with process improvement in support of business initiatives, while working directly with business partners and Finance Leadership.
The ideal candidate will be a self-motivated and action-oriented problem-solver who can collaborate and prioritize effectively.
What you are good at About the FSDP Program:
FSDP is an approximately 2-year program, beginning each summer, where you will have the opportunity to experience two 1-year rotations in two separate areas within Finance, providing a chance to explore Schwab, build strategic perspectives, and grow your network.
Participating Departments:
Build the necessary skill sets for supporting business leaders as well as gain an understanding of finance principles to guide and support corporate leadership.
Enterprise Finance:
Develop FP&A experience with various business units and business partners such as Investor Services and Advisor Services.
Central Finance:
Develop budgeting, forecasting, and reporting experience in support of corporate leadership.
Treasury:
Develop experience supporting balance sheet management and other Treasury functions such as capital markets and securities lending.
Corporate Development and Strategy:
Develop experience with M&A and in strategy development and strategic planning.
Participants will experience planning, analytical, and project-oriented responsibilities in addition to reporting & transactional responsibilities.
After successful completion of FSDP, Finance Specialists usually take on a Senior Specialist role in Finance.
Be a valued member of a cross-functional team to innovate and drive process efficiencies that improve scale and transparency Dive deep into detail and data to learn how a process works Collaborate with business partners and team members virtually in multiple geographic locations What you have An undergraduate degree in Finance, Accounting, Economics or related field Proactive self-starter who can collaborate with a team to deliver results Experience extracting, consolidating, manipulating, and summarizing large volumes of data Ability to efficiently manage several tasks concurrently Effective communication (oral & written) Strong attention to detail and analytical skills Problem solver who can think independently to suggest ideas in support of business objectives Knowledge of finance and accounting principles and concepts In addition to the salary range, this role is also eligible for bonus or incentive opportunities.
